(Fiesta ware history...click here)

I was given three buckets of shattered Fiesta ware that was destroyed in the 1994 earthquake in Los Angeles.

The client wanted to "do something with it" and her choice was to convert the broken pieces of Fiesta ware into mirror frames.

Here are two serving spoon handles coming out of a coffee cup.

Using the fiesta ware logo and pieces such as cups, bowl rims and handles gave the piece a three dimensional appearance.

Here you see the bottom of a Fiesta ware cup, plates and a collection of shards in a gravy server.

All of the pieces are in the same basic shape they were in after they shattered.

All of the classic Fiesta ware colors are represented.

Here you see the Fiesta ware logo. many of these pieces were collectors items and if you can find them, they can be worth thousands of dollars.

For example, a water pitcher originally made by Fiesta can now be worth around three thousand dollars.

Here you see the rim of a serving plate protruding from the frame.

The two mirrors show the shards spilling out of a coffee cup or the gravy server on the right.

The pair of frames together.

  Coffee cup...now an art piece!
