Hancock Park mansion in "Rehab"

Built in the 1920's, this classic Hancock Park home has been refurbished by excellent choices made by the current home owner.

Previous home owners did not do so well and the challenge for me was to "excavate" the hard wood window casings and exterior trim.

The window casings and trim had been painted so many times there was no visible signs of any fluting or contours.

Before...Here you see the old dry and peeling paint.

After...Most people think semi-Gloss and gloss paint is for interior wood trim but always remember...the more light you can reflect, the more alive your painted surface looks!

Gloss gives reflection and reflections add a third dimension to appearance.

When the project began...you could not see any edges or contours in the molding.

Now you can see the tight sharp molding.

The molding if flush with the stucco exterior so hand cutting a sharp clean edge with the paint brush was the key.
